Make Your Own: Sweetened Condensed Milk
And you thought it only came in cans!
2 cups instant nonfat dry milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cups boiling water
6 tablespoons sweet butter (unsalted), melted and slightly cooled
Mix the dry milk and sugar together then slowly add the boiling water. Stir in the melted butter. Whip in a blender or by hand until smooth. Store the milk in the refrigerator for 1 week, or freeze the extra for up to 6 months.
