Buttermilk Biscuits

Sift together: 2 cups flour;
1/2 tsp salt;
3/4 tsp baking powder;
1/2 tsp baking soda.
Add 1 heaping tablespoon lard and mix until resembles cornmeal.
Add about 1/4 cup buttermilk or sour cream....enough to make a soft dough. 

Turn out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut with a round biscuit cutter. Place on an ungreased pan and bake in 450 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until brown.
