1/2 tsp salt;
4 tsp baking powder;
pinch cream of tartar. Cut in 1/2 cup shortening until the mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs.
Add 2/3 cup milk and stir just until mixed.
Pat dough into an 8 inch round cake pan.
Recipes from our grandmother's era. From a time when money was scarce and innovation was a necessity. Food was home grown and "put up" for winter survival.
